Tekla and I signed up to do a tour of the largest ice cave in the world. There was a group of us from the hostel that all went together to check it out. The cave was found in 1879 and it is 42km long (18 miles). It has awesome ice formations that change and reshape every year with the snow melt off that each spring brings.
We did a short hike to get to the bottom of the cable car that takes you most of the way to the entrance of the cave. The cable car is apparently the steepest one in the world. It is actually a little freaky how vertical it is carrying you up on a steel cable.
While on the trip we met a bunch of guys from Australia and ended up having drinks and dinner with them for Jamie´s birthday (one of the Australian guys). We started at Die Wiesse, the brewery that Tekla and I have been going to, and ended with the bar in our hostel.
10 or so beers later we were playing Kings (drinking card game) and jamming out to Craig´s iPod. For being Australian, they were jamming out to stuff like "American Pie" and "Sweet Home Alabama". We were all singing and dancing around the bar! Good times!
Now we are off to Munich for Oktoberfest!!!!
