On our way to Yosemite we had heard there was a big snow storm at the higher elevations in the park. Tioga Pass (10,000 feet in elevation) was closed due to this, which meant half the park was not going to be accessible to us.
Yesterday on the way to Tunnel Vision we saw that Tioga Pass was now open again so we planned on driving up there on our way out of the park to check out the area. On the way past Camp 4 we saw a mother bear with 2 cubs! Unfortunately, we were unable to get a picture but it was really cool to see them!
We made a stop a Olmstead Point and got a really cool perspective of the back side of Half Dome and the valley we were unable to see from Yosemite Valley.
We also made a stop at Tenaya Lake to take a few pictures. There is a cool beach out there that would be awesome to hang out on during the summer time and swim in the lake.
As we turned around to drive back to the west entrance of the park, we saw a coyote run across the road in front of us! On the roadtrip so far we have seen elk, deer, bear, and now a coyote. Oh and best of all in my book is the most obese squirrels you have ever seen in your life! I forgot to snap a picture of them but they are so big that I watched one struggling to climb up a tree! It is pretty funny and sad at the same time that people feed them so much they are fat and their bellies drag on the ground.
