Blue Ridge Mountains

The Blue Ridge Mountains are no Cascade or Olympic Mountains but they are still beautiful in their own right. I remember coming up to the mountains as a kid and being amazed with them. Having come back after 4 years in the Pacific Northwest they seem like the foothills to me but the sunset is still amazing and so are the mountains.

I really need to take a trip back here in the fall and drive through North Carolina to see the leaves change, something we definitely don't have in the Northwest. Anyone want to go with me?

Today I went and hiked Amicalola Falls, which is a 729 foot waterfall and the largest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi. My step-sister Brennan and my parents neighbors son came with. She wussed out about 1/4 of the way up but Paul and I hiked the rest of it. Actually, it's not really hiking it's more like climbing 700 or so stairs but still... haha
